Air China Inner Mongolia Welcomes Its First Aircraft

On Dec. 31, Air China Inner Mongolia Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Air China Limited (CA) and the Inner Mongolian government, took delivery of its first aircraft, with a Boeing 737-700 painted in special livery of "Tianjiao Inner Mongolia" landing smoothly at Hohhot Baita International Airport (HET).
Officially launched on Aug. 23, 2013, Air China Inner Mongolia has a registered capital of 1 billion yuan, in which CA holds an 80% stake while the Mongolia State Assets Operation Co., Ltd. controls the rest 20%.
The newly introduced aircraft, registration number B-5526 was named "Tianjiao Inner Mongolia", which highlights the geographical reputation of Inner Mongolia region, symbolizing that the aircraft will fly safely and freely in the blue sky. As the first local airline in Inner Mongolia, the carrier employs an ancient dragon livery for its first aircraft, in sync with the ethnic horsehair curl patterns and abstract flame patterns on the fuselage, which embodies its unique local characteristics and echoes with the spirit of "favored one by God".
It is learnt that Air China Inner Mongolia is scheduled to operate its inaugural flight CA1102 from Hohhot to Beijing on Jan. 8, 2014. At the initial stage of operation, it plans to serve passenger business with 2 B737-700s to operate domestic routes from Hohhot to Beijing, Chifeng, Changsha, Haikou, Manchuria, Wuhan, and Xiamen, as well as domestic flights from Beijing to Hohhot, Tongliao, Yibin and Jiamusi. Based in Hohhot, the airline has the ambition to build a complete and strong network covering the whole country.
In addition, Air China Inner Mongolia will expand its fleet to 3 aircraft in 2014. Relying on rich tourism resources and aviation demands and good industry basis in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the carrier will start up quickly with CA's wealthy experience in safety management and completed service chain. Based in Hohhot connecting major airports, it will gradually expand the scale to meet the development needs of the air transport industry in the region, increasing transport capacity on trunk and regional routes, serving local economy and achieving sustainable development.
