On Mar. 7, a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft of China Southern Airlines' Subsidiary (CZ) arrived at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO), bringing the airline's fleet size up to 24 aircraft. The new aircraft, registration number B-1923, is the16th B737-800 aircraft of the company and the 2nd one to be delivered this year. Besides, the introduction of new aircraft predicts that China Southern Henan takes the opportunity of Zhengzhou Airport Economic Experimental Zone to promote the development of Zhengzhou aviation hub.
In recent years, China Southern Henan accelerates to upgrade its fleet by replacing its Boeing 737-300s with new model Boeing 737-800s. While the new model is bigger, more comfortable and more environmentally friendly, but consumes less fuel, bringing about better long-term development of the branch company. In 2013, the company took delivery of 3 Boeing 737-800s and operated a number of domestic and international passenger services linking Zhengzhou with Yulin, Hailar, Mohe, Kunming, Lijiang as well as Bangkok, Seoul and Cheju. Meanwhile, it added frequency of several routes, including Zhengzhou-Haikou, Zhengzhou-Sanya, Zhengzhou-Hami and Zhengzhou-Urumqi.
China Southern also eyed the aviation logistic market in Zhengzhou. The airline launched Los Angeles-Zhengzhou-Guangzhou cargo service on Mar. 5, 2013 and Shanghai Pudong-Zhengzhou-Chicago on April 10 last year, helping to transport cargos to the main cities in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.
In addition, China Southern Henan plans to open 3 international including Zhengzhou-Phuket, Zhengzhou-Nanning-Da Nang, and Zhengzhou-Kaohsiung routes, and 3 domestic routes including Zhengzhou-Chongqing-Beihai, Yangzhou-Zhengzhou-Yinchuan and Zhengzhou-Zhuhai-Sanya.
