Video: Comedy Air Steward's Alternative Safety Announcement
The Telegraph | Jun. 21, 2014
Few people look up as air stewards ask for their undivided attention during the safety briefing at the beginning of a flight.
But more would pay attention if all safety talks featured the same level of sass as this Southwest Airlines steward's.
The unknown steward opened with: "In the event you haven't been in an automobile since 1960, flight attendants still have to show you how to fasten a seatbelt."
He added that the seatbelt needed to be "low and tight across your hips just like the hot pink Speedo I'm going to be wearing".
His best material was saved for what he described as the Gucci-designed oxygen masks that would fall in the event the cabin lost pressure.
He advised parents travelling with more than one child: "When those masks fall you'll want to put the mask on the bright one. That will be the one who is going contribute to your retirement most successfully.
YouTube user David London posted a video of a flight attendant's pre-flight speech before taking off from San Francisco and flying to Chicago on Tuesday.
In the video's description, London said, "hilarious speech. I told him it was the most fun flight I ever took and thank you for going above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and entertained."
