Nanning Airport Moves to New Terminal

Nanning Wuxu International Airport (NNG)'s new terminal building (T2) has opened for commercial operations from 6:00 a.m., Sep. 25, and its old terminal T1 was retired officially after 16-year service, the airport said in a statement.
According to the statement, the airport's old terminal could not accept any landings or takeoffs after it is closed after its last flight CZ6284 from Beijing to Nanning arrived at 1:35 a.m., Sep. 25. Its last departure flight ZH9546 left for Shenzhen at 11:55 p.m. Sep. 24. All passenger flights of Nanning Airport are transferred to the new terminal.
A Shenzhen Airlines (ZH) flight ZH9555 took off from Nanning Airport at 7:40 a.m. on Sep. 25, marking the first flight operating from the new terminal. Flight ZH9555 departed Nanning at 7:47 a.m., and landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) at 8:39 a.m., according to VeryZhun, China's leading status service provider.
Covering a total area of 189,000 square meters, the new terminal is designed to handle 16 million passengers, 164,000 tons of cargo and 136,600 aircraft movements annually by 2020, including 2.4 international passengers and 137,600 aircraft movements of international flights.
The new T2 consists of an 189,000-square-meter terminal building and a corridor, with 32 gates and 18 remote stands.
After moving to the new terminal, check-in counters for all domestic flights are closed 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of departure at Nanning Airport, according to the statement.
