Japan Airlines to Introduce Domestic First Class

On August 28, Japan Airlines Corp unveiled details of the First Class services it will introduce on Dec 1 for the first time on domestic flights. The First Class services, to be offered for an additional fare of 8,000 yen, will include special-order leather sofas and meals and drinks, according to the airline, which is seeking to turn around its performance.
JAL President Haruka Nishimatsu said that the new service is expected to increase annual revenue by 4 billion yen. The new class will be introduced on seven round-trip flights between Tokyo International Airport at Haneda and Osaka International Airport at Itami, Hyogo Prefecture. JAL is planning to increase the number to 15 flights in July next year and eventually extend the service to other routes.
