Sep. 26, 2007
Thailand-based Nok Air has been granted a license to operate services between Hanoi and Bangkok in Nov. 2007, an aviation official said on Sep. 25, 2007.
The license, granted by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, allows the LCC to commence operations using B737-400s and B737-800s, twice a day between the two destinations, said Vo Huy Cuong, Head of the Administration's Air Transport Department.
Singapore-based Tiger Airways was the first low cost airline to operate services to Vietnam, beginning in Apr. 2005. Thai AirAsia, a subsidiary of Malaysia-based low cost carrier, AirAsia, is also present in the market.
