Xiamen Airlines to Launch Nonstop Flight to Sydney by Year End

Xiamen Airlines (MF) has gained the traffic right to launch a nonstop service to Sydney by the end of this year, sources from a meeting between Liu Keqing, Mayor of Xiamen city and Sydney Airport chief executive officer Kerrie Mather on January 21.
According to Xiamen Airlines, the nonstop flight will be offered three or four times weekly by the end of 2015, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Besides, the airline plans to open international routes from Xiamen to Manila and Tokyo, and increase its Xiamen-Amsterdam route to a daily service.
The Xiamen-based airline has recorded rapid growth in recent years. It speeds up fleet expansion with an average pace of one aircraft per month. At present, Xiamen Airlines owns an all-Boeing fleet of 113 aircraft, including 6 787s.
"As a popular aviation hub in South China, Xiamen Airport (XMN) has maintained a high growth rate in these years," Liu Keqing introduced to the guests. Now, XMN is pushing forward to increased several international destinations including Nice, France, Detroit, the United States, and Wellington, New Zealand. "Xiamen municipal government will support Xiamen Airlines to open more international routes to build up itself as an international aviation hub," Mr. Liu said.
