Customers traveling on Spring Airlines (9C) will be able to board their flights more quickly, with greater ease and less chaos.
The budget carrier is trying a new boarding strategy by using fruit signs to guide passengers, especially those who travel by air for the first time, and help them find their seats quickly.
Starting Feb. 11, passengers sitting in different rows on the flight between Shanghai and Shenzhen will find different fruit signs printed on their boarding passes. For example, each boarding pass will be printed with one of the four fruit signs - blueberry, kiwi fruit, apple and orange, corresponding to the seats in four sections - row 1-2 in blue color, row 3-12 in green color, row 17-21 in red color and row 22-33 in orange color.
The airline said the new strategy will speed up boarding procedures and ease congestion in the aisles.
In addition, the Shanghai-based low-cost carrier will serve fruit on some of its flights from Shanghai to Urumqi, Xi'an, Kunming, Guiyang, Guangzhou and Shijiazhuang from Feb. 11. Passengers can choose their favorite fruit when selecting seats online.
