A China Eastern Airlines (MU) aircraft performing flight MU5019 took off smoothly from Wenzhou Longwan International Airport (WNZ) at 11:40 a.m. on May 11, marking the successful launch of the scheduled Wenzhou-Osaka international service.
The twice-weekly service is operated by a Boeing B737-800 jetliner on Mondays and Fridays. The Osaka-bound flight MU5019 is scheduled to depart Wenzhou at 11:40 a.m. and arrive in Osaka at 3:20 p.m., with the return flight MU5020 leaving Osaka at 4:20 p.m. and reaching Wenzhou at 6:15 p.m. (all local times).
This is the fourth international flight route launched at Wenzhou Airport after Wenzhou-Rome, Wenzhou-Da Nang and Wenzhou-Jeju routes already opened, and is also Wenzhou city's first Japanese route. Japan is among the most popular tourism resorts. With the depreciation of Japanese yen and the easing of Japan's visa policy, Japan will attract more tourists from China. The newly launched nonstop Wenzhou-Osaka service will greatly reduce the traveling time transiting via Hangzhou, Shanghai or HK previously.
With the coming of summer travel peak, China Eastern will launch the second nonstop Japanese route from Wenzhou to Shizuoka, increasing Wenzhou's Japanese services from two to four every week, and bringing more conveniences and choices for passengers from Wenzhou district.
