China's Top 10 Airports by Passenger Traffic in H1

The Chinese civil aviation industry has accomplished total turnover volume of 40.51 billion tonnes-kilometers in the first six months of 2015, up 14.5% over the same period last year, according to statistics released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Passenger throughput totaled 210 million, a year-on-year growth of 12.5%, while cargo and mail traffic reached 2.99 million tonnes, an increase of 6.6% from a year earlier.
China's Top 10 Busiest Airports
According to internal statistics, there has been a noticeable change in the rankings of China's top 10 busiest airports. Most of the top 10 airports saw a two-digital growth rate except several ones in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) has retained its crown as the busiest airport in China in the first half of this year, with 44.1 million passengers.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) has registered a growth of 18.3% in passenger traffic to 28.99 million in the first half of 2014, replacing Guangzhou Baiyun international Airport (CAN)'s 27.31 million to be China's 2nd busiest airport in the first half of 2015.
However, the other Shanghai airport -- Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) -- slipped to the sixth from fourth, with only 2.2% passenger growth in the first six months.
In the fourth place, up from the fifth, China's fourth busiest is Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), with 20.3 million, up 13.2% year on year.
In addition, Xi'an Xiyan International Airport (XIY) handled up to 15.74 million passengers in the first half, climbing to the eighth spot on the top ten list.
Among the top 10 busiest airports, Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) reported the fastest growth, followed by Shanghai Pudong, with a growth of 19.6%, remaining the 7th spot serving more than 18 million passengers in the first half year. With the rapid growth, KMG is expected to surpass Shanghai Hongqiao to be the sixth busiest airport in China.
Guangzhou had the slowest growth, with 2.3% annual growth.
Taking the last spot in the top 10, was Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH), where passenger numbers reached 13.55 million, a rise of 10.9% over the same period last year.
