A brand new A320 aircraft of Spring Airlines (9C) touched down at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) on Saturday morning, which is the first aircraft painted in a new livery with "Ch.com" on the fuselage and the first 186-seat A320 delivered to a Chinese airline.
The arrival of the aircraft increases the Shanghai-based low-cost carrier's A320 fleet to 52.
The budget airline has been flying the A320 aircraft with 180 seats. However, the aircraft cabin was redesigned by Airbus with a maximum load of 186 passengers to further increase efficiency.
"The introduction of the 186-seat A320 will continue to lower the operating cost of the company, allowing Spring Airlines to provide more competitive airfares," said Zhang Wu'an, spokesman for the airline.
The second 186-seat A320 will join Spring Airlines on September 27, according to the airline.
