A brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft Sunday landed smoothly at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN) and joined the fleet of Xiamen Airlines (MF), which is the 20th Boeing aircraft introduced by the airline this year.
The 737-800 aircraft, Registration B-6889, is the fifth of the 44 all-economy 184-seat 737-800s to be delivered to Xiamen Air.
The Xiamen-based carrier took delivery of its first all-economy Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Oct. 3. Compared with the traditional layout of business class and economy class, all-economy layout cabin could accommodate 184 seats, with an 8% saving of ASK (available seat kilometers).
The arrival of the new aircraft brings the airline's all-Boeing fleet size to 132 aircraft, consisting of 17 737-700s, 103 737-800s, six 757-200s and six 787-8 Dreamliners.
The airline is scheduled to take delivery of two more all-economy 184-seat aircraft by the end of the year, with another 39 737-800s pending delivery in next two years.
