As of March and September 2015, Air China and China Eastern have accumulated 10 million hours of continuous safety flight respectively. According to the China's civil aviation safety incentive method, the CAAC granted the "Flight Safety Diamond Award" to the two carriers.
The regulator urged Air China and China Eastern to continue to put safety first and improve their safety management.
The "Flight Safety Diamond Award" was established to reward airlines with over 10 million hours of continuous safety flight. China Southern Airlines (CZ) was the first Chinese carrier honored with the "Flight Safety Diamond Award" in 2012.
