Singapore Airlines' (SIA) latest promotional video is going places, thanks to the creative talents of an American designer.

San Francisco-based Luca Iaconi-Stewart, who is renowned for making miniature airplane replicas, is shown in the two-and-a-half-minute clip creating SIA's signature Airbus A380 out of manila folders.

The video, which was uploaded on SIA's Facebook page on Wednesday (Dec. 3) afternoon, has since chalked up over 1.2 million views and shared more than 17,000 times.

Mr Iaconi-Stewart's impressive attention to detail - the replica appears to have moving parts for all its individual components - wowed netizens, who praised the national carrier for adopting a novel approach to its marketing campaign.

The 24-year-old aviation fan first shot to prominence at the start of 2014, when he embarked on a project to make a 1:60 scale model of a Boeing 777 jetliner.

It was based on an online diagram of an Air India 777-300ER, and assembled by hand using just tweezers and glue.

"I think I just wanted to push the limits of what could be done with the material (and what I personally was able to do), and that led me to start," he told The Independent.

News of Mr Iaconi-Stewart's craftsmanship quickly went viral, attracting praise from Boeing and several design magazines across the world.
