Chinese start-up carrier Air Guilin Wednesday officially unveiled its logo and aircraft livery via its Sina Weibo account, marking the latest subsidiary of HNA Group.
People say "Guilin's scenery is peerless in the world". Air Guilin's logo, mainly in red and yellow colors, integrates Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbolic landscape of Guilin, with the city's slogan on a seal character. The young and vivid image indicates that the new airline will have a bright future as good as Guilin's scenery by the integration of aviation and tourism.
Air Guilin, based at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (KWL), is licensed for domestic cargo & passenger air transportation business, using Airbus A319 aircraft.
According to previous report, Air Guilin is expected to launch its inaugural service in January 2016.
Backed with 600 million yuan in initial start-up capital, the startup airline is a joint venture between Guilin Tourism Development Co. (60%) and HNA Group subsidiary Guilin Aviation Tourism Group (40%).
In recent years, HNA Group, parent of China's fourth largest carrier, Hainan Airlines (HU), has been cooperating with local governments to set up a series of subsidiaries. Already established are Beijing Capital Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Lucky Air, China West Air, Fuzhou Airlines, Urumqi Airlines and GX Airlines.
