A brand new B737-800 airplane painted with a dancing crane and blue and white porcelain on its tail landed smoothly at Nanchang Changbei International Airport (KHN) at 11:50 a.m. on Dec. 14, marking that the start-up carrier Jiangxi Air (RY) officially took delivery of its first aircraft.
Jiangxi Air also unveiled its logo and livery the same day morning. It's learned that the new logo combines four main elements - blue and white porcelain, crane, jade and aircraft engine, which has distinct Jiangxi characteristics and prominent recognition.
As the logo's designer introduced, the blue and white porcelain represents the Jiangxi province in China, whose Jindezhen city is a world-famous porcelain capital. While the crane symbolizes "green Jiangxi and ecological Jiangxi". Besides, the aircraft engine implies Jiangxi province's infinite development force. And the jade means good luck and completeness in all ages. The integration of all these images signifies Jiangxi people's wonderful desire of soaring development.
On Aug. 13 last year, Xiamen Airlines (MF) and Jiangxi Province signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on investing and establishing the first local carrier in Nanchang together with Jiangxi Airlines Investment Co., Ltd.
Later on Mar. 17, the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) East China Regional Administration issued an initial approval to the launch of Jiangxi Air, and then issued the Nanchang-based carrier the air operator's certificate (AOC) officially on Dec. 8.
It's learned that the first local airline in Jiangxi plans to introduce 5 aircraft from 2015-2016. By keeping a pace of receiving 3 airplanes every year, Jiangxi Air is expected to expand its fleet to 20 planes or more.
As is planned, Jiangxi Air will conduct its test flight from Dec. 28, and perform its maiden flight around Jan. 18 next year.
