Colorful Guizhou Airlines Takes Delivery of Its Second E190

Colorful Guizhou Airlines (GY), a startup regional carrier based in Southwest China's Guizhou Province, has taken delivery of its second E190 aircraft from Embraer in Brazil. The new aircraft, Registration B-3116, Friday took a delivery flight to China.
Earlier this June, during the International Paris Air Show, Colorful Guizhou Airlines signed an order with Embraer for up to 17 E190s, being seven firm order and ten options. The total value of the order is estimated to reach US$ 0.83 billion at current list price.
On Dec. 7, the start-up carrier took delivery of its first E190 aircraft at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (KWE).
Found in June 2015, Colorful Guizhou Airlines is a joint-venture between Guizhou Industrial Investment Group (95%) and Weining County Construction Investment Group (5%). As the first local airline within Guizhou province, the start-up carrier is positioned as a low-cost regional and trunk carrier. It will target operating domestic passenger flights to cities in Guizhou and neighboring provinces.
According to a public notice by CAAC on Dec. 15, Colorful Guizhou Airlines has filed an application for an air operator's certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), paving the way for it to launch the maiden flight on Dec. 28. It is predicted that the fleet number of the carrier will reach 20 aircrafts by 2020, making it a major local carrier within Guizhou Province.
