Chinese flag carrier Air China is continuing to expand its network of routes globally. From winter 2007, Air China will operate 5,090 flights per week to 43 international and 71 domestic cities in 28 countries and regions, increased by 1.5% compared with the same period of the previous year.

In Europe, with the launch of the winter timetable, Air China is launching new service from Beijing to Athens come into effect from November 28, conducted by Boeing 767 twice a week via Dubai. The new service brings significant convenience to the passengers in both Greece and China and also facilitates the commercial, political and cultural communications between the two countries. In addition, the frequency on Beijing-Madrid-Sao Paulo route has been raised to 3 flights weekly effective from November 20.

In Asia, Air China extends the Shanghai-Tokyo route to Chongqing-Shanghai-Tokyo, allowing passengers in southwest China to enjoy direct service to Japan. Meanwhile, with new non-stop service added on Beijing- Sydney route along with other adjustments on the routes from China to Australia, passengers now have possibility to enjoy daily service from Beijing to Sydney. Also, the new service of Beijing-Pyongyang route will be launched in winter.

With Air China's Beijing hub, its extensive network greatly benefits passengers in Asia Pacific, but also brings seamless transfer service for European passengers who travel from Beijing to other destinations in Asia. By the end of this year, Air China will be officially joining Star Alliance - the largest airline grouping in the world, Air China's passengers will soon benefit from the global network of Star Alliance.
