JAL Ordered to Appropriately Deal with Employees' Personal Information
Japan Today | Nov. 27, 2007
On Nov. 27, Japan's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Tetsuzo Fuyushiba ordered Japan Airlines Corp to appropriately deal with its employees' personal information. The warning came after JAL cabin attendants filed a lawsuit against JAL and its largest labor union over the collection of the employees' personal information.
In the lawsuit filed with the Tokyo District Court on Nov. 26, some 190 current and former JAL cabin attendants claim the defendants collected their personal information, including medical records, family status and physical descriptions, without their consent in violation of their human rights.
