China Aviation Daily | Jan. 15, 2016

The Yongshu Reef welcomed a group of special visitors recently, who were the first air passengers arriving at the newly-built airfield in the South China Sea.

But who are they?

They are the families of the soldiers stationed at the Yongshu Reef. The families spent a happy time on the island. This was a precious moment for family reunion.

The newly-built airfield on the Yongshu Reef is an airport located at the southern-most point of China.

On Jan. 6, China conducted successful test flights on the newly-built airfield in the South China Sea. Two civilian aircraft took off from Haikou Meilan International Airport and landed at the airfield on the Yongshu Reef in the Nansha Islands.
