The first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for Hainan Airlines has rolled out of Boeing final assembly plant in Everett, Wash.
The 787-9 Dreamliner, MSN 60283/LN 430, was spotted just outside the Boeing Everett assembly plant as its delivery date nears. The fuselage is still unpainted but the tail is painted fully.
The Haikou-based carrier is scheduled to take delivery of its first of 30 787-9s on May 19, with seven more pending delivery later this year.
Last May, Hainan Airlines and Air Lease Corporation (ALC) signed long-term lease agreements for two new 787-9 Dreamliners. The 787-9 is on lease via the Los Angeles-based lessor.
Besides Hainan Airlines, other two Chinese airlines will become 787-9 operators in 2016 - Air China is scheduled to receive its first on May 5 followed by Xiamen Airlines on December 8.
