Three Airlines and Five Airports Slammed for Poor On-time Performance in March

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced to withdraw three rights of Sichuan Airlines, Lucky Air and Hebei Airlines due to poor on-time performance recorded in March 2016.
According to a notice released Monday, effective May 1, the aviation watchdog will suspend three airlines' flight slots 3U8724, 8L9951 and NS3322.
Meanwhile, Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Haikou Meilan International Airport will be banned from adding frequencies, charter flights and making new route applications from May 1, the CAAC announced in a notice released Monday on the its website.
The aviation watchdog added that the airports in Sanya, Wuhan and Changsha continue to remain under a similar ban.
In the short statement, the regulator stated that the airline and airports must first meet performance targets for two consecutive months, before further flight applications will be accepted.
Moreover, Colorful Guizhou Airlines and Urumqi Diwopu International Airport would be allowed to apply for new air routes, frequency additions or charter services as their on-time performance improved, effective May 1.
