Video: Airport Worker Destroys Jet Allegedly After Getting Fired
China Aviation Daily | Apr. 26, 2016
According to a video posted on YouTube, an airport worker was destroying a multi-million dollar jet in Russia, using a mechanical excavator allegedly after being fired.
In the clip, the tractor driver smashed the Yak-40 plane of UTair into pieces, reportedly in revenge after being fired.
The video clip was firstly published on February 22, 2015 at liveleak.com, with comments showing "those are out of date airframes being broken up for scrap."
"I'm these are defunct aircraft. The second-hand Yak-40 price is less than 5 million rubles, maybe they aren't worth selling or nobody wants to purchase them. Besides, looks like the engines have already been repurposed."
It is proved that UTair doesn't currently have any active Yak-40 in fleet.
So, it's just the disassembly.
