A Chinese passenger who was told she wasn't allowed to board with a 118ml bottle of contact lens nursing liquid got furious and poured the liquid at the head of security staff, local media reported on Thursday.
After queuing for a flight from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to Beijing on May 4, the woman, surnamed Li, was stopped by officers from taking the contact lens solution through security.
She was intended to take the 118ml liquid onboard despite the strict rules that no more than 100ml will be allowed through security.
"I have used some of it and it's now less than 100ml," Li told the security staff.
The airport staff said she can take the liquid onboard if it would put into a container under 100ml.
Li got furious and poured the liquid on the security staff after being prevented from carrying the liquid onto the aircraft, broadcaster Mingzhu Television reported.
The female passenger has been detained for disturbing public order.
