Hainan Airlines' first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Registration B-7880, has completed its first flight.
The brand new aircraft took off from Boeing's Paine Field and flew the Seattle skies on April 28, in preparation for its handover to Hainan Airlines, expected later in this June.
The first test flight, known as B1 flight conducted by Boeing test pilots, was part of a series of work that the manufacturer performs before handing over the airplane to the airline.
The Haikou-based carrier's first stretched Dreamliner was unveiled in its full livery in late April.
The Haikou-based carrier is expected to take delivery of its first 787-9s in June, with seven more pending delivery later this year.
Besides Hainan Airlines, other two Chinese airlines will become 787-9 operators in 2016 - Air China is scheduled to receive its first in May followed by Xiamen Airlines in December.
