Virgin Australia Monday unveiled its new Business Class cabin for passengers flying on its long-haul international routes on board its first refitted Boeing 777-300ERs.
The new product, Economy Space +, which is designed to make travel from Australia to the United States and Middle East more comfortable and seamless.
Economy Space + features 37 "suites" in a 1-2-1 configuration that convert into a lie-flat bed, 80 inches long (203cm) - the length of a queen-sized bed, the airline points out.
Located in the first five rows and the exit rows of the main cabin on Virgin Australia's 777 fleet, the new business class cabin features a 1-2-1 layout, allowing direct aisle access for all business class passengers. This is a big improvement over the previous layout of 2-3-2, which meant window seat and middle-seat passengers had restricted access to the aisle.
On sale from Tuesday May 17, Economy Space + will be available for flights commencing August 30, 2016.
The first revamped 777-300ER flies daily from Australia to Los Angeles and later on thrice-weekly flights from Sydney to Abu Dhabi.
