Photos: Touring Boeing's 787 FAL in North Charlton
China Aviation Daily | May 18, 2016

Boeing Co is set to deliver China's first 787-9 Dreamliner to Air China on May 18. Prior to the delivery, the U.S. manufacturer offers a special tour at its 787 production line in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Boeing South Carolina is home to the company's newest 787 Dreamliner final assembly and delivery facility. The site also fabricates, assembles and installs systems for aft (rear) fuselage sections of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and joins and integrates mid-body fuselage sections.

The South Carolina plant, which delivered its 100th 787 Dreamliner in February 2016, has expanded from manufacturing the 787 to designing and producing parts for the 737 MAX and the forthcoming 777X.

Boeing plans to boost 787 production rates to 12 planes a month before this summer, just before the first 787-10 starts making its way through the final assembly process in North Charleston.
