Southwest Airlines is getting a bold new look that was unveiled in style with an in-flight fashion show.
On a delivery flight from Seattle to Dallas last week, Southwest Airlines displayed a new uniform collection in the in-flight fashion show on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with Heart interior (featuring the new G7 galley and new seat).
Dozens of Southwest employees unveiled the new uniforms outside the aircraft before taking off.
Once they took to the skies, people got on their feet dancing and having fun showing off the variety of uniforms on a runway 35,000 feet in the air.
The uniforms, designed by a group of 43 Southwest employees, have been in development since early 2015 and crew members will start receiving them in 2017, with the Dallas-based carrier planning to switch to the new design in the middle of the year.
The crowd on the flight was mostly Southwest employees, so travelers still have several more months before they'll get a chance to see the uniforms in action.
