Video: Shanghai-Bound ANA Dreamliner Rejects Takeoff Due to Engine Failure

An All Nippon Airways Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner bound for Shanghai had to abort takeoff after suffering an engine trouble on Sunday afternoon, Japanese media reported.
The 787-800 jetliner, Registration JA840A performing flight NH959 from Japan's Tokyo Narita to Shanghai with 240 people on board, was accelerating the engines for takeoff at around 2:25 p.m. when the left hand engine (RollsRoyce Trent 1000) failed with a loud bang prompting the crew to reject takeoff at low speed.
No injuries have been reported.
The aircraft returned to the apron, metal debris reportedly blades from the engine needed to be removed from the runway, which was closed for more than an hour.
A replacement Boeing 787-800, Registration JA815A, departed Tokyo at 4:54 p.m. and reached Shanghai with a delay of 3 hours.
