Finnair Pilot Declares Mayday on Way to Beijing Due to Smoke in Cabin and Cockpit

A Finnair Airbus A350-900 aircraft, Registration OH-LWF performing flight AY51 from Helsinki to Beijing, made an emergency landing at Beijing Capital International Airport on Aug. 9, after reportedly having smoke in cabin and cockpit.
The pilot was forced to make a Mayday emergency at around 6:11 a.m., declaring "Mayday, Mayday, Mayday, we have smoke alert in the cabin. Please give us direct runway 19!" according to an audio recording posted by Xu Jian via Facebook page.
The air traffic controller replied "roger" and directed the aircraft to land on the runway 19 safely at 6:48 a.m.
