Shandong Airlines H1 Net Profit Up 31% to 284 Million Yuan

Air China subsidiary Shandong Airlines reported a net profit of 283.7 million yuan during the first half of 2016, up 30.85% year on year, the Jinan-based carrier said in its interim report.
In a Shenzhen Stock Exchange disclosure, the company disclosed that its total revenue rose 10.43% to 6.3 billion yuan, while total operating cost increased 11%. The carrier's earning per share (EPS) was 0.71 yuan, compared with 0.54 yuan in last year.
In the first six months of this year, Shandong Airlines achieved a total of 167,200 flying hours and handled 79,800 flights, up 13.28% and 7.46% year on year. Passenger traffic climbed 9.82% to 8.77 million with an average load factor of 76.19 percent. Cargo traffic volume rose 5.54% to 73,500 tonnes.
During the period, Shandong Airlines had taken delivery of five Boeing 737-800 aircraft. As of June 30, 2016, the regional airline has operated a medium fleet of 95 aircraft, including three 737-700s, 90 737-800s and two CRJ-700s. Total fleet average age was under five years - 4.44.
Shandong Airlines' brand value stood at 28.5 billion Yuan, ranking the 101st among "China 500 Most Valuable Brands", four placed higher than last year.
