China Airlines has painted its first Airbus A350 aircraft with a special livery - Mikado Pheasant, a very rare bird found only in Taiwan's mountain areas.
"Mikado Pheasant" decals are being applied to China Airlines' first A350, B-18901, which was delivered to the Taipei-based carrier on September 30 in France.
China Airlines' A350 is configured with 306 seats in three cabin classes, including Premium Business (32 seats), Premium Economy (31 seats) and Economy Class (243 seats) with Family Couch.
Altogether the airline has ordered 14 A350-900s. After an initial period flying on regional services between Taipei and Hong-Kong, the aircraft will be deployed on long haul flights, starting with Amsterdam, followed by Vienna and Rome.
China Airlines' new A350-900 schedule:
End of October 2016: Hong Kong
End of December 2016: Hong Kong and Osaka
End of January 2017: Amsterdam, Vienna, Rome, Hong Kong, and Osaka
End of February 2017: Adding North America routes after evaluation
China Airlines said all of its 14 A350s will bear a special livery.
