China Southern Leases Back Four 777-200s to Boeing

China Southern Airlines has signed an agreement to sell four 777-200s back to Boeing, the Guangzhou-based carrier disclosed in a Shanghai Stock Exchange notice announcing its recent order for 12 787-9s.
The carrier announce Wednesday to order 12 787-9 Dreamliners, pending approval from its board. Besides, four 777-200s and two back-up engines will be sold to Boeing. Moreover, China Southern also has reached agreements to lease eight more 787-9s from AerCap Ireland Limited and Air Lease Corporation.
All four 777-200 aircraft will be delivered to Boeing in 2017 and 2018, the airline said.
China Southern now has 16 777-200s in fleet. The four 777-200s, Registration B-2051, B-2052, B-2053, B-2054, are powered by General Electric GE90-90B engines. They were delivered to China Southern between 1995 and 1996.
