The Straits Times | Oct. 18, 2016
A Singapore Airlines flight from Zurich to Singapore was delayed by about 28 hours after an A380 airplane was struck by a water servicing vehicle at Zurich Airport.
The Airbus A380 was struck in the underbelly of its fuselage by a water servicing vehicle at Zurich Airport on Sunday (Oct. 16) morning.
The flight, which was scheduled for departure at 11:45 a.m. Zurich time on Sunday (6:00 p.m. Singapore time), was delayed as a result, said a spokesman from Singapore Airlines.
Following repairs to the aircraft, SQ345 is now scheduled to depart for Singapore on Monday at 4pm Zurich time.
"No passengers or staff were on board the aircraft at the time, and the vehicle driver was not injured," said the spokesman.
"Some passengers have been transferred to other flights while the remaining passengers have been provided hotel accommodation before the departure of the delayed flight," the spokesman added.
