China's biggest aviation event, the 11th International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, will kick off in Zhuhai on Tuesday, November 1, which underlines the trend in what is a banner week for the industry.
The state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) will prominently show the world with two iconic models of its "large aircraft family" - Y-20 transport jet and the world's largest amphibious aircraft AG600. It is also the first time the two aircraft displayed in such event.
The AG-600, which has a maximum take-off weight of 53.5 tonnes and a maximum range of around 5,000 kilometers, the AG-600 will make its debut at the six-day Zhuhai Airshow.
The AVIC General Aircraft Company has won 17 orders for the amphibious aircraft AG600, including two at 2014 Zhuhai Air Show.
The Y-20, China's first domestically developed heavy-lift transport jet, was commissioned in July. It has a maximum payload of 66 metric tonnes and a maximum takeoff weight of more than 200 tonnes, according to military sources.
