Airbus Tianjin A320 Family Final Assembly Line has delivered a total of 292 aircraft since 2008, the European manufacturer said at the 11th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Zhuhai Airshow).
As of October 20, 2016, the Tianjin plant has handed over 39 A320 Family aircraft this year, and will reach its 300th milestone of delivery within the year, Airbus said.
Tianjin A320 Final Assembly Line began operations on Sep. 28, 2008. At present, the A320 Family aircraft assembled by the plant are operated by more than a dozen of Chinese and foreign airlines. The customers speak highly of the A320 Family aircraft assembled in China, saying they share the same standards with the A320 Family aircraft assembled in Europe.
Currently the Tianjin plant produces four A320 aircraft a month, or 48-50 per year.
Specifically, Airbus Wednesday officially changed Tianjin Final Assembly Line to Asia Final Assembly Line, extending its reach to deliver more aircraft to carriers beyond China in Asian region.
The Tianjin plant is a joint venture between Airbus and a Chinese consortium comprising Tianjin Free Trade Zone (TJFTZ) and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). The FALC is the third A320 Family final assembly line in the world after the ones in Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany, and is also the first Airbus aircraft final assembly line outside Europe.
The first A320 aircraft assembled by the Tianjin plant was delivered to Sichuan Airlines in June 2009. It delivered 11 A320 Family aircraft in 2009, 26 in 2010, 36 in 2011, 37 in 2012 and 46 in 2013.
