Air China, Hainan Airlines Plan Chongqing-Los Angeles Services

Air China and Hainan Airlines have submitted an application to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) respectively, seeking rights to launch a new nonstop service from Chongqing to Los Angeles, the U.S. in the new winter/spring season.
Pending government approval, both carriers will operate the Chongqing-Los Angeles service thrice weekly, according to an announcement released Friday on the CAAC's official website.
Air China will operate Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the new service, while Hainan Airlines using 787s, the CAAC said.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until November 11, 2016.
