Airbus A350 Debuts Chengdu as Final Stop of 11-Day China Tour

Airbus' new A350 XWB wide-body is nearing the end of its "demonstration tour" of China, the final stop in China, as the MSN002 touched down at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport on Monday.
Airbus embarked on an 11-day tour of China on October 29, in an effort to promote its new A350 aircraft to the country's airlines.
The A350 test aircraft, outfitted with a cabin interior, visited visit the home bases of China's largest carriers, including Hainan Airlines (Haikou), Air China (Beijing), China Eastern (Shanghai), China Southern (Guangzhou) and Sichuan Airlines (Chengdu) during the 11 day trip ended on November 8.
Specifically, the A350 XWB made its debut at China Air Show 2016 in Zhuhai on November 1-2 for both static display and dynamic flying demonstration.
After demonstration in Chengdu, the MSN002 will fly to Toulouse on November 9.
The A350 XWB has received valuable endorsements from several Chinese customers. China Eastern Airlines ordered 20 A350-900 aircraft in April 2016. Air China ordered 10 A350-900s with its first delivery scheduled in 2017. In September, Sichuan Airlines signed a Letter of Intent for leasing four A350-900s.
Sichuan Airlines plans to launch a long-haul service linking Chengdu and New York, using A350-900 in 2017.
To date, Airbus has received 810 firm orders for the A350 XWB from 43 customers worldwide, already making it one of the most successful wide-body aircraft ever. By the end of September, a total of 41 A350 XWBs are in service with nine customers.
