Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) and Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) have been voted as China's 5 best airports for service and convenience in the third quarter of 2016 in a recent survey of air travelers via VariFlight app, according to a quarter report released in late October by Civil Aviation Passenger Service Evaluation (CAPSE) of CARNOC.com, the sister website of ChinaAviationDaily.com.
The Airport Services Evaluation Report for Q3 2016 is the 17th quarter report evaluating airports' services published by CAPSE. The report is based on a survey on passengers' satisfaction according to their experiences and represents the true feelings of travelers.
Air travelers were surveyed by questionnaires about their experiences at the airports in mainland China during a 3-month period from July to September of 2016. The survey measured passenger satisfaction across various key performance indicators of airport services, including airport transportation, airport facilities, airport security, terminal cleanliness, airport shopping, airport staff excellence, ground handling service over flight delays, etc.
The latest survey collected 520,980 questionnaires via VariFlight App and Ctrip.com. To make it more effective, CAPSE selected 26 airports with not less than 100 samples for each - 22 in mainland China and four regional and international ones.
Making comparisons in airports' average scores and rankings from Q3 2015, the latest evaluation report allows readers to get a clear and simple view of each airport's improvements and changes. It shows that the overall passenger satisfaction decreased slightly.
According to CARNOC fleet data base CADAS, passengers have a lower satisfaction with the recent airport on-time performance, which to a certain extent affects their overall satisfaction in the third quarter of 2016. The Q3 report also shows that airport transportation has the most influence on other performance indicators of airport services, followed by airport services and facilities.
In the latest evaluation, Incheon International Airport took the spot on air passengers' satisfaction among all airports and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport was voted as China's best airport by air travelers, followed by Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.
