Global pilot training provider Airways Aviation has secured CASA-approval for its MPS simulator and Brisbane-based Airline Training Centre. Working with Multi-crew Airline training Systems, its facilities can now be used to deliver Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 142 Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training.

Airways Aviation has also secured finance options for MCC qualifications and additional type ratings provided by partner Type Rating Training Organisations, which will reduce the financial constraints of training for new pilots and airlines. Monthly payment plans for individual pilots are available from AU$200 a month through an arrangement with the National Australia Bank.

Under CASA's updated Part 61 rule for multi-crew operations, commercial pilot licence holders must complete MCC training to work in a multi-crew operation. MCC training is now integral to obtaining a Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) and an ATPL, both of which are essential for a commercial career in aviation.

It's therefore a must for pilots who are progressing to an airline career."

The MCC course, delivered by Multi-crew Airline training Systems, allows students to practice operating in a multi-crew jet environment and develop a deeper understanding of how to become an effective crew member. Throughout the training, students will act as crew in both the pilot flying and pilot monitoring roles.

The training consists of pre-course study material, three days of ground school and 20 hours' simulator training, delivered at Airways Aviation's Brisbane Airline Training Centre. The simulator is specifically designed to deliver MCC, MPL and 50% of type rating credits. The latest in advanced training technology, it is equipped with flight control loading and collimated visual display as found in Full Flight Level D simulators.
