Another Plane Skids off Taxiway at Urumqi Airport

A China Southern Airlines plane slid off a taxiway at Urumqi Diwobu International Airport on Tuesday morning. It is the airport's second incident of this kind within a day due to snowy conditions.
At 10:10 a.m., an Airbus A320, Registration B-2391, skidded off the icy taxiway when it was performing flight CZ3436 from Urumqi to Guiyang. The left landing gear of the aircraft slid off the taxiway and veered onto the grassland.
At 9:33 a.m., the front tire of a Shanghai Airlines Boeing 737-800 skidded off the icy taxiway at Urumqi Airport when turning around due to the cockpit crew's improper operation. The airline removed its flight division manager from his post after the incident.
There were no injuries or damages to the airplanes in both incidents, said CAAC Xinjiang Regional Administration.
The cause of the incidents is under investigation, according to the authority.
