Wuxi Airport Accommodates 5.5 Million Passengers in 2016

With the safe landing of flight MU2926 on the evening of Dec 31, 2015, Wuxi Sunan International Airport (also known as Wuxi Airport) submitted its annual transcript revealing more than 5.5 million passengers and 96,000 tons of cargo in 2016, up 20 and 8 percent from 2015.
The airport also completed another milestone by remaining accident-free for the 13th consecutive year.
Last year, Wuxi Airport owned flight access to 52 cities, 34 in China and 18 worldwide. Several new airlines have since been introduced raising the total number to 68, 48 domestically and 20 worldwide. The airport currently services 125 daily flights, nearly an 18 percent increase from 2015.
Since opening for business in 2004, Wuxi Airport has always adopted a safety-critical philosophy in every position. In the second half of 2016, the airport took millions of people in and out of the city safely during many important events, like the G20 Summit and the World Internet of Things Exposition, winning the airport various safety awards and awesome passenger feedback.
