Nanjing Lukou International Airport in China's Jiangsu Province has been reopened after it was forced to close for two-and-a-half days.
All stranded passengers have been now reached their destinations. Airport staff are preparing for possible heavy rain and snow in the next few days.
The snowy Nanjing Lukou International Airport was back up and running again on January 31. The runways and main roads are clear and planes are now permitted to take off.
Zhang Youfu, vice manager of Nanjing Lukou International Airport, said, "More than 230 planes are operating normally, carrying about 20,000 passengers. Thanks to the efforts of our staff, all the stranded passengers are now able to depart."
With the reopening of the airport, cargo transport has also gradually been resumed.
Weather experts say southern China will suffer a new round of rain and snow in the next few days. And freezing rain may bring further transport problems to Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi Provinces.
