JAL Crew Put Passengers' Meals in Plane Bathroom
Feb. 16, 2008
The crew of a Japan Airlines plane put a cart containing snacks for passengers in a bathroom due to lack of space during takeoff and landing in a flight earlier this month from South Korea to Japan, officials of the airline and the transport ministry said on Feb. 16.
Officials of the airline and Japan's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry said they do not see any safety problems in the incident. But a JAL official said the crew lacked consideration for the customers when they put their meals in the bathroom, even though the packages were sealed.
The crew put the meal cart in the aircraft bathroom for safety during takeoff after they found that they could not put it in the galley because the galley was already full as an extra cart from the previous flight was left in the plane, they said.
