Shanghai Airport Authority announced the just-completed West Logistics Zone at Pudong International Airport received final approval from the construction authority to open for service on February 27.
The new air cargo area covers an area of 2.38 square kilometers and is expected to handle an annual cargo turnover of 1.15 million metric tons by 2010.
It would open for operation about the same time as the airport's new terminal building and the third runway, in the first half of the year.
