Air Canada Makes Emergency Landing at Kansai Airport
Japan Today | Apr. 06, 2008
On April 5, an Air Canada flight with 201 passengers and crew on board made an emergency landing in the afternoon at Kansai International Airport due to landing gear trouble, which was later found to be a burst tire. No one was injured in the incident, a Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry office at the airport said.
The Air Canada Boeing 767-300 Flight 35 landed at around 4 p.m. after requesting permission to do so 25 minutes earlier, saying its landing gear had developed an anomaly, the office said. It came to a halt on a taxiway and was towed to a parking spot. Inspectors found one of four tires under the left wing had sustained a puncture, the office said. Air Canada and authorities are seeking to identify the cause.
