CAAC Reports 12% Passenger Growth in November 2016

China's civil aviation industry achieved a total turnover volume of 8.19 billion tonne-kilometers in November 2016, a year-on-year growth of 12.5%, according to the monthly traffic statistics released Friday by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
The statistics shows that passenger numbers rose 13.6% to 39.7 million. The number of passengers travelling on domestic and international flights increased 14.2% and 8.1% respectively to 35.9 million and 3.8 million.
Chinese airlines handled 642,000 tonnes of cargo and mail in November, up 9.5% year on year. Cargo traffic saw a growth of 12.2% on domestic routes, with 3.5% growth on international routes.
Passenger load factor rose 1.3 percentage points to 81.2% and the freight load factor increased 0.5 percentage points to 73.4%.
The aircraft utilization rate remained stable at 9.2 hours per day. The aircraft utilization rate was 9.3 hours per day for medium and large aircraft and 6.5 hours per day for small aircraft.
In the first 11 months of 2016, Chinese airlines carried up to 447.4 million passengers, up 11.6% over a year earlier.
