CADAS: 28 Commercial Aircraft Delivered to China in January

Chinese carriers have taken delivery of 28 new aircraft in January 2017, including eight Boeing 737-800s, six Airbus A321s, four A320-200s, two A319s, two 787-9 Dreamlienrs, one E195s, one 777-900ER, 737-300 and A300-B4, according to CARNOC fleet date base CADAS.
Among the 28 new aircraft, three were delivered to Xiamen Airlines, three to Juneyao Airlines, two to China Express Airlines, 9 Air, Qingdao Airlines, Lucky Air and Capital Airlines, respectively. Meanwhile, Okay Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Hebei Airlines, Shandong Airlines, SF Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Air China and Uni Top took delivery of one new aircraft in January.
Specifically, Hainan Airlines took delivery of its 9th Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and also the second Kung Fu Panda-themed 787-9 (B-6998), while Xiamen Airlines received its second stretched Dreamliner (B-1567) on January 25.
Along with fleet expansion, Chinese airlines also retired some old aircraft. According to CADAS, a total of ten commercial planes were phased out of service in the first month of 2017, including six 737-700s from Xiamen Airlines.
China Southern phased out one Boeing 777-200 (B-2057) in January, with other seven pending retirement later this year.
With the arrival of new aircraft, Chinese airlines now operate a total of 2,947 commercial planes.
