Remarkable Record of Civil Aviation Development in Yunnan Province

With the deepening of reform and hub city construction, civil aviation development in Yunnan Province has achieved remarkable fruits. Consisting of 15 subordinate airports, Yunnan Airport Group Co., Ltd shows strong trend in collaborative development.
Possessing 15 airports, namely, Kunming Changshui International Airport, which has the most destinations to South and South-East Asia now in China, Xishuangbanna International Airport, Lijiang International Airport, Dali Airport, Dehong Mangshi Airport, Diqing Shangri-La Airport, Baoshan Airport, Pu'er Simao Airport, Zhaotong Airport, Lincang Airport, Wenshan Airport, Tengchong Airport, Ninglang Luguhu Airport, Cangyuan Airport, Jingmai Airport respectively, the airport group guaranteed 502 thousand taking-off and landing flights, 62.79 million passengers and 463 thousand tons of cargoes merely in the year of 2017, among which, Kunming Airport has contributed 349 thousand departures and landings, 44.73 million passengers and 419 thousand tons of freight.
As for new air routes development, last year, the airport group opened 485 air routes, including 403 domestic, 78 international and 4 regional. Kunming Airport alone opened 359 air routes, including 280 domestic, 76 international and 3 regional. There are 49 airlines operating in Yunnan aviation market in total, including 33 domestic, 13 international and 3 regional ones. By 2020, the annual passenger and cargo throughput of the province's airports will have been 100 million people and 600 thousand tons respectively, with 20 civil airports and 50 general airports.
Right now, there have been 15 airports in the province, building a cooperative air network taking Kunming Airport as its hub, with three subordinate hubs including Xishuangbanna, Lijiang and Mangshi Airports.
