On March 25, 2018, Rossiya Airlines commenced scheduled service from St. Petersburg (Russia) to London (the UK). The new daily flights are performed from Pulkovo St. Petersburg airport to Gatwick airport on A320 aircraft.
Rossiya Airlines has become the second airline to operate the St. Petersburg-London route, with British Airways offering daily service from Pulkovo to the UK capital's largest airport Heathrow. In 2017, the direct traffic between the two cities grew by 7% year-on-year to 92,300 passengers. Additionally, 31,000 people used transfer flights on the route, representing a 20% growth in indirect traffic.

An Aeroflot group subsidiary, Rossiya is a home base carrier and the leading airline at Pulkovo airport in terms of passenger numbers. From January-February 2018, the airline handled 650,700 people at Pulkovo. The route network includes scheduled service from St. Petersburg to 44 domestic and international destinations.
For the first two months of 2018, Pulkovo Airport welcomed 2.03 million people, increasing passenger traffic by 8.1% year-on-year. The number of passengers on domestic routes grew by 3.8% to 1.39 million people, while the traffic on international destinations showed 18.8% growth reaching a mark of 642,000 passengers.
Since 2010, Northern Capital Gateway LLC operates Pulkovo airport, implementing its reconstruction and development project.
